I love the challenge and excitement of organising and managing events from the ground up. From meetings to industry events to not for profit fundraisers, I have worked in them all.
Critical thinking, planning and most of all communication are the cornerstones of well planned events.
Taking a background in design and business and applying that to event management has meant my focus is always on the balance between the end product, time and budget.
The key to getting it all over the line is to be able to be a big thinker AND cope with all of the detail and communicate that to your team.
Listening to your stakeholders is crucial and a great event manager knows how to deliver an event that fulfils the brief and a lot more.
Juggling the roles of negotiator, manager, recruiter, designer, accountant and putting out fires as you go while remaining cool, calm and collected is just an ordinary day in event management.
Some of my favourite events to work in have been:
Feed Melbourne- not for profit
Screen Producers Australia annual conference
Portal Project South Sudan- fund-raising
Because I find it so rewarding and challenging I also work in the Incident Management Team for the Red Cross Australia in logistics as a volunteer. Our focus is on emergency situations such as bush fires and floods. We might have 20 events running daily state wide during a crisis and in this time our skills as communicators and planners are tested constantly.
I would love to work with you on your event so please contact me to discuss your requirements.
